I am an active senior lady seeking to find someone with similar interests to share a home for our mutual advantage. I am a non-smoker therefore I could not share with a smoker. I am easy to have a good relationship with so long as people are respectful and kind towards me. I receive unconditional love from my well-trained 3-year-old Jack Russell companion dog, Milly. She will happily love you too if you are open to sharing. I am not religious, but I do live by ethical and moral values. I am a rationalist. I am neither outgoing nor shy, but I tend to keep to myself within the retirement village where I live. I used to enjoy reading daily, but now life is always busy with trying to secure affordable, suitable accommodation. My interests are life-long learning and research. I enjoy growing native plants and herbs, but I am not physically able to do heavy gardening work. I cook for myself most evenings as I do have some dietary intolerances. I enjoy a glass of wine with my evening meal, often the high point of my day. I usually watch the ABC TV in the evenings from 6:00pm onwards. I enjoy Hard Quiz and other Aussie shows plus BBC dramas like Vera and Shetland. I like to maintain my level of fitness, so I attend group exercise classes twice weekly for strength and balance. Each afternoon I either walk my dog or take her to a dog park where she can socialise and exercise happily with other dogs. I have had careers in banking & management accounting, then returned to university to be an environmental scientist, managing protection of an area of the Great Barrier Reef, and a researcher in plant sciences. My sporting passion was sailing the Australian coastline, the east coast of NZ, and cruising to South Pacific Island nations. Now I seek time and space to relive these adventures through writing my life's story. I enjoy driving so I have seen a lot of Australia, including towing a trailer yacht or caravan in Vic., SA, outback Qld, NT and the Kimberleys. I have lived in many areas of Queensland and for 10 years in western Victoria from 1977 to 1987. My favourite place used to be Port Douglas, but all my friends there have fallen off the perch. Now I need a happy, safe refuge to write my story and share some happiness every day. I am resilient, resourceful, and organised, but right now I am overwhelmed and exhausted from trying to keep from being homeless. I have become very efficient at shopping for groceries at Food Banks, so Miss Milly and I eat quite well thanks to lots of free fresh produce. Where I live is not important; it is more about finding a compatible sharing companion in a safe and bright location. I love being surrounded by the natural world, so finding a home with a garden (or in a rural location) would be so therapeutic for my mental well-being. I have furniture to suit a small 1 bedroom + study home with all kitchen and laundry appliances etc., some outdoor furniture, and an outside doggy playpen plus child gates for Miss Milly.
