We have had a number of questions in the new year about our program and how it works. We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions below. If you have a question that we haven’t answered below please email us on info@bettertogetherhousing.com.au What areas do you run Better Together Housing in? Sunshine Coast Mackay and now Brisbane! What are the eligibility requirements to be able to join Better Together Housing? Better Together Housing was created for single women over the age of 55 looking to explore shared housing in Mackay, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. You will need to have some form of security documentation like a police check or a blue card. If you don’t have any security documentation please contact us as we may be able to help. I have registered but I cant log in? it is most likely that you need to email your security documentation through to info@bettertogetherhousing.com.au once it has been emailed and reviewed by a Better Together Housing Team member then your membership can be approved I need help to use the website who do I contact about that? If you are having trouble with the website please reach out to the Better Together Housing team on info@bettertogetherhousing.com.au we can help over the phone or we can offer one-on-one support Does it cost to join Better Together Housing? Better Together Housing is funded through Queensland Governments Department of Housing so there is no cost to join. It can cost to obtain the security documentation however if you cant afford to purchase this please reach out to the Better Together Housing Team as we may be able to help Brisbane Coffee Chats We would like to give a big shout out to our new Better Together Housing Office Leanne who will be working to bring Better Together Housing to the Brisbane Region! Leanne has started with a bang hosting her first Coffee Catch up last Thursday. Coffee Catch ups are a great way to come and meet Leanne, in a casual environment to see if Better Together Housing might be right for you or someone you know. The next Coffee Catch up will be held next Thursday from 10am-12pm at Housing Older Women Support Service Hub, 31 Thomas Street, West End. Better Together Housing Community Info Day Better Together Housing is joining the Goodlife Community Centre and Sunshine Coast Council to bring a Community Info Session for over 55 women looking for affordable living solutions. |

Update on Better Together Housing in Mackay
We hope you’re all staying safe and dry in this wet weather!
As some of you know, the Better Together Housing Team in Mackay had to postpone last Thursdays morning’s gathering due to the deteriorating conditions. However, Lauren still popped into the café just in case, and she is so glad she did! We had a lovely coffee with a few familiar faces and even welcomed a new attendee. It was a great reminder of how valuable these connections are, rain or shine!
With that in mind, we will rescheduling our Get Together for next Thursday at 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by an important Planning Session from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM. You’re welcome to join for either or both, depending on your availability. Please email Lauren@gwcommunities.org.au to RSVP
The planning session is your chance to envision the kind of support, connection, and empowerment you’d like to see—if you were the facilitator, what would you create to support yourself and other women in your position?
We would love to see as many of you there as possible. Your ideas, experiences, and perspectives matter!
